The Young and Inexperienced Driver Scheme is a motor insurance scheme
specially designed for young drivers below the age of 24 or inexperienced drivers
who have less than two years of driving experience.
It is an initiative by AAS Insurance Agency (AAS-IA), underwritten by Liberty
Insurance Pte Ltd and supported by AAS Academy.
Young or inexperienced drivers are assumed to be more likely involved in an
accident due to their lack of driving experience, putting them in the high-risk
group resulting in higher excess and premium. Similarly, car owners who have
young or inexperienced family members driving their vehicles often also face
additional policy excess and premium loading for their motor insurance.
Young drivers refer to drivers below 24 years old. Inexperienced drivers refer to
drivers with less than 2 years of driving experience.
This new insurance policy offers young or inexperienced drivers the option to
lower their premium loading and policy excess. Drivers can also track their daily
journeys using the DriveWellTM telematics app and safe drivers will be able to
receive petrol vouchers as incentives.
This motor insurance scheme is underwritten by Liberty Insurance Pte Ltd.
Step 1.
Submit your quotation request via AAS-IA’s website at

Step 2.
AAS-IA will contact you with the motor insurance quotation and explanation.
Step 3.
Sign-up and attend Safe Driver Program conducted by AAS Academy. To check
course availability dates and registration, please visit
www.aasacademy.com.sg/newdriver/.
Step 4.
Present the certificate of completion of the Safe Driver Program to AAS-IA
when purchasing your motor insurance. The certification is valid for 1 year
upon completion of course.
Step 5.
Install the DriveWellTM telematics app in your smartphone to enjoy rewards for
good Safe Driving Score.
• If you are a young or inexperienced driver and you are one the named
drivers in the policy (you are not the registered owner of the car), you
are required to activate the DriveWellTM telematics app for a period of 6
months or 1,200km whichever comes first.
• If you are a young or inexperienced driver and you are the registered
owner of the car, you are required to activate the DriveWellTM
telematics app for a period of 6 months or 6,000km whichever comes
first.
The premium savings and lower policy excess depend on the whether you are;
• A car owner with a young or inexperienced driver as one of the named
drivers in the policy, or
• A young or inexperienced driver who is also the registered owner of the
car
